How much will it cost?
The total cost of your deck will vary according to the size, shape and type of construction and finish. A simple shape is less expensive than a complex one. A smaller deck is less expensive than a larger one. The final cost will also depend on the type of finish, which is a trade off between the cost of materials and the style of construction.
We can give you a firm quote, based on your choices, but there are some easy rules you can use to get a feel for the budget you will need.
A simple softwood deck on a level site will cost about $120 per square metre including materials and construction. So, a typical 6 metre by 4 metre deck in softwood would cost around $2,880 (inc GST). A larger 8 by 5 metre deck would cost $4,800 (inc GST). Hardwood is a little more expensive - it will cost from $150 per square metre, meaning your 6 metre by 4 metre deck would cost $3,600 in hardwood.
More complex decks, uneven sites and more expensive materials will increase the cost - possibly by up to 50%. We can give you an estimate over the phone based on your description of your situation. If the estimate fits your budget, we will visit and give you a firm written quote.
Which material is best?
It's very much a personal choice. Some people prefer traditional timber styles, which can be cheaper, but require regular oiling. A well maintained timber deck will look good and remain serviceable for many years. We build in a wide range of timber types, and can help you decide which is best for budget and serviceablility.

You may also want to consider different fixing systems. Hidden fixing systems, such as those available with OzDeck may be just your cup of tea. Other people may prefer to see a line of screws signifying traditional construction methods.
How long will it take?
Most timber decks do not need building permits and approval by local council so the process is quite simple. It can take as little as 2 weeks from your first meeting with All Style Decking to the completion of your deck. Our skilled and practiced team can build all but the very largest projects in less than a week, minimising any disruption to you.
